Journal Articles

I've been reading all kinds of articles lately and have discovered that as a rule, scientists have no writing skills. Most of them have no organizational skills whatsoever and tend to make the assumption that everyone who might possibly read their article is familiar with key terms in their field of study.

In any case, I was beginning to get frustrated with one paper in particular when I read the following: 'Resulting tension positions sister chromatids on the metaphase plate creating an accurate and often visually exciting image of symmetry'. Visually exciting!? Symmetry of chromatids, really? 'Cause that's definintely not the type of visual image that gets me excited.

Oooh science people.
